It’s a short week for most of us, so I’m keeping the newsletter that way as well.

But I do want to call attention to an opportunity many of you may find intriguing: getting a $1,000 grant from the University of Vermont’s Center for Community News.

CCN Champions are faculty and advisers who want to start or grow a program in which college students report on local/community issues. Previous Champions represent a wide array of journalism education professionals engaged in a variety of news/academic partnerships. These awards also come with a year of coaching and mentoring, as well as connecting you to other leaders in this growing field.

Applications are due Dec. 12.
